School-based therapy services are provided through a contract with Centerstone. If you are interested in having your child meet with the school-based therapist, who is a full-time mental health counselor assigned to Woodlawn Elementary, please contact us to begin the referral process. School-based therapy differs from school counseling in that services are typically long-term and include case management services for the family.
Woodlawn Elementary has a large population of military students due to our close proximity to Fort Campbell. In order to support our students regarding the unique challenges faced by military families, the Department of Defense provides a Military Family Life Consultant (MFLC). The MFLC visits with small groups and individual students to discuss pro-social skills and coping skills related to military life. We have permission slips for parental consent to receive services from our MFLC. You may email our MFLC below, contact our school counselor, or contact your student's teacher to request the consent form.
The school psychologist provides assessment and consultation for students with exceptional needs, including academic deficits, developmental delays, and behavior challenges. Although the school psychologist for our building does not typically providing direct, on-going services to students, he is available to consult with teachers and parents regarding exceptional services.
